REJURAN IN SEOUL: HEALER VS HB VS EYE, THE KOREAN POLYNUCLEOTIDE GUIDE

Rejuran is one of those treatments that feels uniquely Korean. Polynucleotides extracted from salmon DNA, micro-injected into the upper dermis, triggering the skin's own healing response. Western dermatology is just catching up. Here's the full menu and what to expect.

WHAT POLYNUCLEOTIDES ACTUALLY DO

Polynucleotides (PDRN/PN) are short DNA fragments that bind to the A2A adenosine receptor in skin cells. The cellular response is anti-inflammatory and pro-healing, it stimulates fibroblasts, increases collagen synthesis, and dampens chronic inflammation. Practical translation: skin texture improves, fine pore size reduces, and post-laser or post-acne irritation calms down faster.

THE REJURAN FAMILY ON A KOREAN MENU

A Korean clinic price sheet usually lists 3–5 Rejuran variants. They share the same active molecule but differ in concentration, formulation, and target area:

• 01Rejuran Healer (2cc), the original. Targets fine lines, pores, and overall texture. The standard 3-session protocol is spaced 2 weeks apart. ₩240K–300K per session.
• 02Rejuran HB (1cc / 2cc / 4cc), combo formula with hyaluronic acid added for hydration boost. The 1cc variant is often used as a touch-up; 2cc and 4cc are the full-face standards. ₩230K–790K depending on volume.

THE 3-SESSION PROTOCOL, AND WHY IT MATTERS

A single Rejuran session does very little. The cumulative effect comes from the 3-session protocol, with each session 2–4 weeks apart. The first session primes the skin, the second triggers visible texture improvement, the third locks in collagen remodelling. Maintenance after the initial 3 sessions is typically every 4–6 months.

This matters for travel planning. If you're flying into Seoul for one week, you can complete one session, but you'll need to either return for sessions 2 and 3 or arrange for a local clinician to continue the protocol back home. Some Seoul clinics will package all 3 sessions into a 6-week trip for visitors who plan ahead.

PAIN AND RECOVERY

Rejuran is moderate-pain. The injections are dozens of micro-pricks across the treatment area, similar in sensation to mesotherapy. Most clinics apply topical anaesthetic for 20–30 minutes before; the "Premium Painless" variants add nerve blocks for high-volume protocols.

Expected post-treatment: small papules ("rice grains") at each injection site that flatten in 24–72 hours, mild redness, occasional bruising. You should avoid makeup for 12 hours but can return to normal activity immediately. Skip strenuous exercise and saunas for 48 hours.

WHO REJURAN IS FOR

Rejuran is the skin-quality treatment of choice for patients with fine pores, post-acne texture, mild fine lines, or chronic inflammation. It's NOT a volumiser, for hollowness or sagging you want fillers or HIFU. It's also less effective for deep dynamic wrinkles where botox is the right tool.
