"Skin booster" is the most overloaded term on a Korean clinic menu. It groups injectables that range from ten-minute hyaluronic-acid hydration shots to multi-month collagen-stimulator programs. Here's the taxonomy that actually matters before you pay ₩550K for the wrong category.
GROUP 1, HA HYDRATION BOOSTERS
Pure hyaluronic acid micro-injected into the upper dermis. The classic example is Skinvive (Allergan), but Korean menus also list Lilied, Revive, and several local brands. The mechanism is simple: HA holds water, you get a fast hydration boost and a glassy reflective surface that lasts ~3 months. Low commitment, no significant collagen contribution, no long-term structural change.
Use case: pre-event glow, monthly maintenance for visibly dehydrated skin, or as the "topcoat" on a multi-modality protocol. Korean prices: ₩670K–1.17M per session for full-face.

GROUP 2, COLLAGEN BIOSTIMULATORS
These don't add volume directly, they trigger the skin to make its own collagen over weeks to months. Different molecules give different durations:
- 01Juvelook (PDLLA + HA carrier), Korean-made. Results build over 2–3 months and last ~12 months. ₩340K–550K per session.
- 02Sculptra (PLLA), original poly-L-lactic-acid biostimulator. Slower onset, longer-lasting (18–24 months). ₩720K.
- 03Collaum, newer Korean PCL biostimulator with a similar profile to Sculptra. ₩550K–990K.
- 04Retizen, PLA-based collagen booster, formulation tuned for Korean skin types. ₩600K.
- 05JU:BERRY, clinic-exclusive collagen booster (RE:BERRY brand). ₩510K per 4cc.
Biostimulators are the right call when you want long-term skin density rather than a temporary hydration peak. Plan for a 2–3 session protocol over 4–8 weeks; the skin keeps building collagen for 3–6 months after the final session.
GROUP 3, POLYNUCLEOTIDE HEALERS (THE REJURAN FAMILY)
Salmon-DNA polynucleotides. Different mechanism from biostimulators, these are anti-inflammatory and pro-healing. Best for irritated, post-laser, or damaged skin. The HB variant adds hyaluronic acid for combo hydration; the Eye variant is formulated for the periocular area. Typical 3-session protocol, 2 weeks apart.
Rejuran is also a strong "primer" before bigger treatments, Rejuran 1–2 weeks before laser, RF, or Ultherapy reduces post-procedure inflammation and accelerates recovery.

GROUP 4, EXOSOMES / PDRN
Cell-signaling vesicles or polydeoxyribonucleotide injections. Trending hard in Korea since 2024. Best as a recovery layer post-laser or post-microneedling, less as a standalone aesthetic treatment. Brands to know: Benev Exosome (US-imported, premium), ASCE+ (Korean), generic PDRN.
“Different groups stack well. A common Korean protocol: Rejuran (heal) → Juvelook (build) → Skinvive (gloss).”
HOW TO CHOOSE
Start with intent. If you want immediate "glow" before flying home, an HA booster is the right call. If you're investing in long-term skin density and willing to commit to a multi-session program, biostimulators win. If your skin is sensitive, irritated, or recovering from a peel/laser, lean Rejuran or exosomes. For maximum effect, stack one from each group spaced 4–6 weeks apart.
WHAT TO VERIFY BEFORE BOOKING
Skin booster nomenclature changes constantly in Korea, new brands appear monthly, and the same name can refer to different formulations across clinics. Verify the active ingredient, the volume injected, and whether the price covers the full protocol or a single session. Most multi-session programs are quoted per session; a 3-session Rejuran protocol at ₩240K each is ₩720K total.
