WHAT TO BRING TO YOUR KOREAN AESTHETIC CONSULTATION
A short, practical packing list for your first Korean aesthetic appointment, and the four things foreign visitors most often forget.
By Editorial

Korean aesthetic consultations are quick and efficient. Bring the right things and you'll save a meaningful chunk of consultation time for the actual treatment discussion.
DOCUMENTS
- 01Your passport, Korean clinics scan it for the procedure record (this is a regulatory requirement, not optional).
- 02Your phone, fully charged, for KakaoTalk follow-up, photos, payment.
- 03A printed or screenshot list of allergies, current medications, and previous aesthetic procedures with dates.
- 04A KakaoTalk account installed (download before you fly, KakaoTalk Plus Friend is the dominant clinic communication channel).
SKINCARE
Your skin should be clean and bare on arrival, no makeup, no aggressive actives that morning. If you wear makeup to your consultation, the clinic will give you a makeup-removal wipe at reception, but starting bare saves time and shows the clinician your actual skin baseline.

REFERENCE PHOTOS
Save 2–3 reference photos in your phone of the look you're aiming for. They don't need to be celebrities, they can be your own younger photos, friends, or anonymous reference shots from K-beauty media. Reference photos compress 10 minutes of consultation into 30 seconds.
A BUDGET NUMBER YOU'VE DECIDED IN ADVANCE
Walk in knowing your maximum spend for the day. Korean consultations are professional but counsellor-driven; without a pre-decided budget, the conversation drifts toward the upgrade plan. A specific dollar amount in your phone, "today I want to stay under $1,500", anchors the conversation toward your goals.

THINGS FOREIGN VISITORS MOST OFTEN FORGET
- 01A hat and sunglasses for the walk back, fresh injection sites are sun-sensitive.
- 02A makeup-free morning, no point arriving with a full face if you're removing it before the consult.
- 03Cash or a card with no foreign-transaction fee, Korean credit card processing is fast but DCC at the terminal can add 3–6%.
- 04Your hotel address in Korean characters, useful for taxi back, especially if your hotel concierge gave you only English.

WHAT YOU DON'T NEED
You don't need: extensive medical records (the clinic will fill out a fresh intake form), Korean cash specifically (cards are fine for clinic payments), formal clothing (clinics are casual). Travel light to the appointment, most clinics have lockers for personal items during procedures.
